A new book, Colours of My Mind, written by Austin Emaduku, Ph.D., will be publicly presented on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Egini town in Udu, Delta State.
The book presentation will form part of a twin literary event that will also witness the official opening of the Egini Community Public Library.
The event, scheduled for 12 noon at the Egini Community Townhall, is being organised by Emaduku in collaboration with Premium Times Books and the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria.
Published by Premium Times Books, Colours of My Mind will be reviewed by Dr. Stephen Ese KekeghE, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English and Literary Studies, Delta State University, Abraka.
Professor Godini G. Darah, Emeritus Professor of Oral Literature, will chair the occasion.
The Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon. (Chief) Vincent Oyibode, is expected to serve as chief launcher, while the Chairman of the Delta State Library Board, Barrister Innocent Ogboru, will be the principal guest of honour.
The Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Lucky Avweromre, Ph.D., is billed to present the book.
The second leg of the event will be the official opening of the Egini Community Public Library, donated by Emaduku with support from the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria.
The library is expected to provide residents with greater access to books and support the development of reading culture in the community.
The event will also attract traditional rulers, political leaders, academics, government officials, professionals and other stakeholders.
Among the special guests of honour listed for the occasion are Pastor Joseph Othihue, Chairman of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission; Prince Kalanama Penawou, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; and several traditional rulers.
Royal fathers expected at the event include HRM Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, King of Okporua Kingdom; His Majesty Odjaberen, Dr. Matthew Ediri Egbi, FOD, among others.
Also expected are special launchers, including Chief Isaiah Esowa, Chairman of ALGON, Delta State; Dr. Barry Pere Gbe, Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor of Delta State; Chief Wilson Ejeben; Barrister Richard Kpedi; Chief (Barr.) Moses Odibo and Chief Andrew Orugbo.
The organisers said the event would bring together lovers of literature and stakeholders committed to promoting reading and intellectual development.
