Abductors of Madam Betinah Benson are demanding N500 million ramson before they could release her.
The recent abduction of the 80-year-old woman and mother of the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Kombowei Benson, is the second abduction in eight years.
Gunmen, who abducted her at her resident in the old Assembly Quarters, Yenagoa, were said to have been dressed in military camouflage.
In a related development, abductors of a popular nightclub, Club 64 owner, Tari Ajanamih, have demanded for the sum of N200 million for his release.
Ajanamih who’s nightclub is located along the Bay Ridge area of the State capital, also works as a cash officer with Wema Bank.
The 43-year-old indigene of Ayamasa town, in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the State, was abducted last month at his building project site, along Otiotio Road, in the State capital.
A member of the family of the abducted club owner, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed that the family have been contacted and ransom demanded.
“It was shocking when they were demanding for N200 million. I hope and pray that they release our brother unhurt,” the source said.
It was gathered that investigators into the two cases of abduction are already looking at a possible link between the abductors and the possibility that both were planned by the same group.
