The pioneer Bishop of the Diocese of Ughelli (Anglican Communion) under the Bendel Province, Rt. Rev. Vincent Omasheho Muoghereh, has passed on at the age of 85.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online learnt that the retired bishop died on Monday after a brief illness, sources close to the family disclosed.
Bishop Muoghereh was selected in 1997 and consecrated as bishop on the Feast of Epiphany (January 6) in 1998 and retired as the head of the Diocese of Ughelli in 2010.
The late cleric hailed from Uwheru Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Fondly called Baba, Bishop Muobghereh’s leadership saw the diocesan expansion through the creation of new parishes, archdeaconries and the propagation of the gospel to his area of coverage and beyond.
The Ughelli Diocese is yet to release any statement on the passing of its former bishop.
He was succeeded by the current Bishop of Ughelli Diocese and Archbishop of Bendel Province, Most Revd Cyril Odiboroghere Odutemu, PhD.
