Dafinone Celebrates Joe Omene At 80, Hails Contributions To Urhobo Nation


Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the former President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union, Chief Engr. Joe Omene, on the occasion of his 80th birthday anniversary, describing him as a respected leader, elder statesman and committed advocate of the Urhobo cause.

 

In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday, Dafinone said Omene’s life and service to the Urhobo nation remain worthy of celebration and emulation.

 

The senator, speaking on behalf of the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, praised the former UPU President-General for his dedication to the preservation of Urhobo culture, traditions and identity.

 

“I warmly felicitate with a leader, an elder statesman, and former President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union, Chief Engr. Joe Omene, as he celebrates his 80th birthday anniversary today.

 

“On behalf of the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District, I celebrate this remarkable milestone and honour a life defined by dedication, service, and commitment to the Urhobo Nation,” Dafinone stated.

He noted that Omene played a significant role in promoting the unity, dignity and development of the Urhobo people during his tenure as President-General of the apex socio-cultural organisation.

 

According to Dafinone, the octogenarian’s leadership and advocacy contributed immensely to strengthening the collective identity of the Urhobo nation.

 

“Chief Engr. Joe Omene’s contributions to the preservation and promotion of Urhobo culture, identity, values, and traditions remain commendable.

 

“His leadership of the UPU and his advocacy for the unity, progress, and dignity of the Urhobo people at a critical time in our history are commendable,” he said.

 

The lawmaker further lauded Omene’s wisdom, courage and sacrifices, describing his life as an inspiration to younger generations.

 

“As he attains this golden age of 80 years, I commend his wisdom, courage, and sacrifices in serving the Urhobo people and contributing to the growth of our collective heritage.

 

“His life of service continues to inspire younger generations to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and commitment to community development,” Dafinone added.

He prayed for continued good health, strength and longevity for the elder statesman.
