Former Delta State Governor and All Progressives Congress senatorial aspirant for Delta North, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on Friday met with traditional rulers across the district as part of ongoing consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting was held at the palace of the Obi of Owa, His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Efeizomor II, and was attended by monarchs from various communities in Delta North.
Okowa said the engagement formed part of his consultations with critical stakeholders across the senatorial district and was aimed at discussing issues affecting the zone.
According to him, discussions at the meeting focused on peace, unity and socioeconomic development in Delta North.
“Our discussions focused on the continued peace, unity, and development of Delta North, as well as the collective responsibility we share in advancing the interests and wellbeing of our people,” the former governor said.
Okowa stressed the importance of collaboration among leaders and stakeholders in promoting the welfare of the people and sustaining development across the district.
He also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in maintaining peace and stability in their respective communities.

The former governor expressed appreciation to the monarchs for receiving him and his entourage, describing the interaction as productive and insightful.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with traditional institutions and other stakeholders to advance the interests of the district.
“I am grateful to Their Royal Majesties for the warm reception and insightful engagement, and I remain committed to working with all stakeholders in pursuit of a stronger, more united, and more prosperous Delta North,” Okowa said.
