The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has assured the people of Delta Central and the entire Urhobo Nation that the year 2026 holds fresh hope, renewed confidence, and brighter prospects, declaring that clear economic signals point to a better year than 2025.
In a New Year message released on January 1, 2026, Senator Dafinone extended warm goodwill to his constituents, expressing optimism that the sacrifices of recent years are beginning to yield results.
“We may not yet be exactly where we want to be, but we are certainly not where we used to be,” the senator said, stressing that the collective journey of the people has been defined by resilience, perseverance, and steady progress.
According to him, these gains provide a strong foundation for greater opportunities and meaningful advancement in the year ahead.
Calling on residents, especially those in rural communities, to remain focused and hardworking, Dafinone described the people of Delta Central as resourceful and industrious, urging them to sustain their businesses, trades, and traditional occupations, which he noted remain critical to economic growth and shared prosperity.
The lawmaker also highlighted the strategic alignment between the Delta State Government and the Federal Government, describing it as a rare opportunity to accelerate development across the state.
“This synergy, if fully harnessed, will translate into tangible dividends of democracy for Delta State and more importantly for Delta Central,” he said.
Senator Dafinone further urged the Urhobo Nation to embrace the new year with unity, optimism, and a forward-looking mindset, reaffirming his commitment to working closely with the Delta State Governor and the Federal Government to ensure that Delta Central receives its fair share of development.
Expressing confidence in the months ahead, the senator noted that 2026 would be a defining year for Delta Central and the Urhobo Nation.
