The people of the Iwhrekreka community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the operations of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), noting that the firm has handled the Federal Government’s pipeline surveillance contract with excellent performance.
Iwhrekreka, one of the host communities to OML34, however called on President Bola Tinubu and the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to expand the pipeline surveillance contract of Tantita to cover the entire NNPCL lines across the country due to their impressive performance in securing oil pipelines.
The indigenes of Iwhrekreka community made the appeal at the community town hall during an enlarge stakeholders meeting to appreciate Tantita security services for meaningfully engaging youths of the community through the pipeline surveillance job slots.
The meeting, which had in attendance elders-in-council, Egweya, Emete, and the youths, passed a vote of implicit confidence in the Chairman of Tantita, Oweizi Government Ekpemukpolo, fondly known as Tompolo, and the Managing Director, Chief Keston Pondi, as a top security service in the Niger Delta Region, with an impressive scorecard.
The Unueworo of Iwhrekreka Community, Olorogun Freeborn Ayoma, and the President of the community, Comrade James Onovughe, who described Tantita security services as a Major game changer, said with their excellent performance, the NNPC’s daily oil production of 1.8 million barrels per day will be achieved and called for the expansion of the mandate areas of the security services to further boost the nation’s oil production.
Olorogun Ayoma and Comrade maintained that Tantita security services have safeguarded and restored sanity to the once bastardized environment and waterways, which were occasioned by the activities of illegal oil bunkering and vandalism by oil thieves.
The Onueworo and the president of Iwhrekreka Community, while evaluating the security services activities in the fight against pipeline vandalism, sea pirates and illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta Region, rated Tantita high in its various humanitarian projects and appealed that they should also extend it to Iwhrekreka by assisting them to construct the Eqwaya hall and install street lights in the community.
Also speaking, all representatives of the community elders council, Pastor Dominic Obagbuomoamre, an opinion leader, Hon Solomon Toka, the youth leader of the community, Comrade Moses Okpadah and a representative of the women folks Mrs Henlyn Sasoko, all disclosed that Tantita has security services remains the only solution to increase oil production across the country.
They, however, appealed to the federal Government to expand the scope of its mandate areas under the leadership of Chief Government Ekpemukpolo and Chief Keston Pondi in reward for Tantita’s excellent performance which they said has increased oil revenue in the country.
