The Delta State Police Command has arrested a Sapele-based cleric, Pastor Daniel Ololo, for reportedly raping, defiling and sexually assaulting female members of his congregation, including three siblings.

Ololo, a pastor with the Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry in Sapele, was alleged to have used “fake prophesies” to lure his victims to bed.

This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.

The suspect was picked up by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on November 17, 2025, at the church premises following a petition lodged against him by the victims.

Edafe stated that the pastor was alleged of using “fake prophecies” to manipulate and sexually exploit vulnerable members of his church.

“Investigation revealed that the pastor allegedly used fake prophecy to lure vulnerable church members to his church office, coerce them into believing that if he did not have sex with them, they would not be delivered.

“Further Investigation revealed that he had canal knowledge of three sisters of the same mother who are his church members (names withheld), and the last victim is aged 17 years. Suspect is in custody, and Investigation is ongoing”, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the command has also arrested a suspected serial killer and fleeing prisoner, Michael Ezenwai, in Agbor.

The suspect was alleged to have been nabbed while attempting to sell a stolen phone, whose owner, he had earlier murdered in her apartment.

Investigation by the police also revealed that the suspect was among the syndicate gang that reportedly raped and murdered a 200-level student of UNIBEN, Uwaila Omorzua, in 2020.

“On the 24th of October 2025, the DPO Agbor received a complaint that one Michael Ezenwai was trying to sell a suspected stolen phone. The DPO swiftly mobilized operatives to the scene and immediately arrested the suspect.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed that he brought the phone from Libya. Later that same day, the phone rang, and the caller stated that the phone belonged to her sister, Christabel Egedefe. Upon the strength of this information, the DPO and team proceeded to the house of the said Christabel and discovered her dead in her apartment.

Upon further interrogation, the suspect changed his statement, stating that he was only trying to indict the father of the victim.

“He then stated that he went on a robbery operation at her house on the 23rd of October 2025, and murdered her when she refused to let go of her motorcycle keys and also made away with her mobile phones.

Preliminary investigation later revealed that the suspect is a serial murderer and was part of the syndicate that raped and murdered Uwaila Omorzua, a 200-level student of UNIBEN, who was murdered in the church when she went to study in the year 2020.

“The suspect further stated that he escaped from Oko correctional centre during the End SARS 2020 jailbreak. Suspect is in custody, and investigation is ongoing”, the statement further added.
