Students of Delta State Polytechnic Oghara caught with guns

The Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara (DSPO), has suspended four students including two final year students for alleged illegal possession of guns at the school campus.

Although, the motives of the students were not known, the school authorities said the suspects have been handed over the Nigeria Police Force for investigation.

WARRI TODAY that the students were caught with the fire arms during the institution’s “Cultural Day” celebration last week Thursday (Thursday 18 July, 2019).

The institution also confirmed the suspension of the students in a school bulletin signed by its registrar, Dr. Benson Omonode. A copied of the school bulletin was obtained by our correspondent on Sunday morning.

The Registrar gave the names of the arrested and suspended students to include Ogbekhilu Collins (HND II, Mechanical Engineering), Oghenede Godbless (HND II, Elect-Elect Engineering), Agbagbara Ernest (ND 1, Regular 2, Industrial Engineering) and Omare Andy (ND II, Regular 1 Business Administration and Mgt.)

“The four (4) students were caught with guns by security operatives on Thursday, 18th July, 2019 during the Cultural Day at the Polytechnic. They have been handed over to the police for investigation”, Omonode added.
