Olorogun John Nani, Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has congratulated the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe I, JP, OON, on the occasion of his 18th coronation anniversary, describing the milestone as a celebration of visionary traditional leadership, peace, and enduring legacy.
In a felicitation message to mark the commencement of activities lined up for the anniversary, Nani rejoiced with the monarch and the people of Uvwie Kingdom as events began with the unveiling today Saturday, February 7, 2026, of the royal biography, “Odyssey of Royalty: The Reign of Abe I, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.”
The DESOPADEC Chairman noted that the reign of the Philosopher-King has been marked by stability, progressive governance, and sustained socio-economic development, positioning Uvwie as one of the most organised and industrially significant traditional kingdoms in Delta State.
According to him, the decision to document the monarch’s journey, vision, and achievements in a biography is both timely and historic, as it preserves the institutional memory of the kingdom and offers future generations valuable insight into leadership anchored on wisdom, peace, and service.
Nani commended the Ovie’s foresight in expanding the traditional administrative structure of the kingdom from four to nine Etche, describing the move as strategic in strengthening grassroots governance and responding effectively to rapid urbanisation across Uvwie.
He further observed that under Abe I, Uvwie has evolved into a major hub for commerce, education, industry, and security, while maintaining harmony among its diverse communities and sustaining its reputation as a gateway kingdom in the South-South region.
“As Uvwie marks this significant coronation anniversary, it is evident that His Royal Majesty’s reign has reinforced unity, strengthened traditional institutions, and enhanced the kingdom’s relevance within Delta State and beyond,” Nani stated.
He prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and longevity for the monarch and wished the people of Uvwie a peaceful and memorable celebration as activities progress towards the coronation anniversary thanksgiving Mass scheduled for February 18.
