Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with Christians across the state and the country on the occasion of Easter, calling on them to remain steadfast in faith and committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described Easter as a season of hope, sacrifice and renewal, underscoring the triumph of light over darkness and life over death through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Oborevwori urged believers to draw inspiration from the virtues of love, humility, perseverance and selflessness as exemplified by Christ, noting that such values are critical to building a united, peaceful and prosperous society.
“This sacred season reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, His triumphant resurrection, and the eternal hope it brings to humanity,” he said.
“As we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord, let us also renew our commitment to building a state and a nation where peace, justice and brotherhood prevail.”
The governor prayed that the joy and hope of Easter would fill the hearts and homes of citizens, while urging them to seek divine guidance for Delta State and Nigeria.
“I urge you all to celebrate responsibly, cherish moments with your loved ones, and extend kindness to those in need. Together, let us build a brighter and more prosperous future for all,” he added.
He also reassured Deltans and residents of his administration’s commitment to improving living conditions and making life more meaningful for all.
