Delta Central Senator at the National Assembly, Okakuro Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the Islamic community in Nigeria as they celebrate this year’s Eid El-Kabir, urging them to use the occasion to unite and pray for peace in Nigeria.
Senator Dafinone also urged muslim faithful to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, love, peace, and tolerance, which the Holy Prophet exemplified during his lifetime, stressing that Nigeria would be much better if worshippers adhered to those virtues.
In a statement on Friday, Senator Dafinone called on the Islamic faithful to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu in its quest to bring economic and infrastructural development to the country.
According to him, “I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all Muslim faithful in Delta Central Senatorial District, Delta State, and across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Eid El Kabir. This sacred celebration reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and unwavering faith, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet. As you gather with loved ones to mark this important festival, may your prayers, sacrifices, and acts of devotion be richly rewarded.
“Eid El Kabir is not only a time of celebration but also a moment of reflection on the values that unite us as a people—peace, tolerance, compassion, and solidarity. In these challenging times, I encourage all our Muslim brothers and sisters to draw strength from the lessons of Eid and to continue demonstrating these virtues in their daily lives and interactions with others, regardless of their religious or ethnic background.
“As our nation navigates a difficult economic curve, I urge the Muslim Ummah and all citizens of Delta Central and beyond to remain steadfast and hopeful. The journey to economic stability and national development is never without hurdles, but with patience, resilience, and collective effort, we will overcome our current challenges and emerge stronger. Government at all levels is working towards reforms that will bring long-term prosperity and improved living conditions for all.
“Once again, I congratulate the Muslim community on the celebration of Eid El Kabir. May this season bring you peace, renewed faith, and abundant blessings. I pray that Allah (SWT) accepts your sacrifices and grants our dear country lasting peace, unity, and progress.”
