The Erebe family of Isoko in Delta State has felicitated with the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe, on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Speaking on behalf of the family, one of his younger brothers, Mr. Ogaga Erebe, said the new Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who is their eldest brother, has continued to play the role of a father for the family since the death of their father.

He described the new Senior Advocate of Nigeria as sacrificial in nature, stressing that Omamuzo Erebe was not the type who believed in too much talk but remained a problem solver.

Speaking further, Ogaga Erebe said that the new SAN was passionate about the well-being of every individual, particularly those who had one reason or the other to come to him for assistance.

He stated that the name “Omamuzo” which translates literally in the Isoko dialect as someone with ‘a good head’ has been working for his elder brother, recalling that he had passed through so many obstacles but always came out victorious at the end, just as he said that Erebe’s recognition as a SAN is well deserved.

For her part, Mrs Catherine Oberuoma, an Assistant Director in the State Ministry of Justice, described Mr. Erebe, as a man with the heart of God, adding that he has the interest of staff at heart.

She explained that there was no time when you would meet Mr. Erebe for any issues that he would not stand by you and contribute his quota in resolving the problem for you, noting that the SAN awardee was always hardworking, intelligent, and had a positive impact on all the staff of the Ministry of Justice.

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Asaba Branch, Mr. Precious Nwadimuya said that Erebe was a gift to Delta State and a great asset to the legal profession, stating that; ” the SAN awardee had distinguished himself in the legal practice as a practitioner in all ramifications”.

Nwadimuya maintained that Mr. Erebe was a dutiful public servant, adding that he had prosecuted many high profile cases and won, a feat that proved wrong the notion that civil servants were lazy people.

In his remarks, the Librarian in Ministry of Justice, Mr. Henry Agbabune recalled how Mr. Erebe and one Pedro, who was one of the Special Assistants to His Excellency the late Professor Amos Utuama, former Attorney and Commissioner for Justice assisted him with some money to start up a building for his late mother in her family’s compound in Abraka after her death .

Agbabune said that his mother died in 2005, two years after he was gainfully employed in the State Civil Service and had no money to build a house for her mother, as he was the only son of their parents, while the rest of his siblings were females, thereby making it difficult to start up the building, which led to him soliciting for help.
