Popular billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola has taking over the treatment of paralysed former Nigeria goalkeeper, Coach Peter Fregene, WARRI TODAY can report.

This medium learnt on Thursday that the ailing Olympian would be flown to Lagos for medical treatment at the Reddington Hospital in Ikeja.

Fregene had previously been treated for partial paralysis by former Lagos State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola at Reddington Hospital.

The ex-international has been sick since 2001after suffering a spinal cord injuries after returning from training.

Sources told WARRI TODAY that Otedola had concluded preparations have been concluded to move him to Lagos on Friday to commence treatment at the Reddington Hospital through the Benin Airport.

Otedola had also reached out to ailing football legend, Christian Chukwu, who is presently receiving treatment at Wellington Hospital, Circus Road, St John’s Woods London.

Fregene confirmed Otedola’s help to foot his medical bills when contacted on Thursday.

 The 72-year-old paralysed Fregene told our correspondent that he would be leaving Sapele for Lagos onward to Reddington Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.

Elated Fregene said, “I’m leaving tomorrow (Friday) for Lagos for treatment through the help of Femi Otedola. He had earlier sent representatives to check on my health.

“I’ll leave through the Benin Airport. Everything has been paid for by him (Otedola). I’m so happy for this.”
