The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the government in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Magdalene Ajani.
He congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora on the occasion of Easter, urging them to reflect on and imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Tunji-Ojo reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to policies that would promote national rebirth, economic growth and shared prosperity across the country.
