FUPRE VC Celebrates Ibori At 68, Hails Ex-Delta Governor’s Enduring Legacy, Contribution To Education


The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Professor Ezekiel O. Agbalagba, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on his 68th birthday, describing him as a leader whose legacy of public service and leadership continues to inspire generations.

 

In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of the university, Professor Agbalagba said Ibori’s birthday is not only a celebration of longevity but also of a lifetime of service, resilience and impactful leadership.

 

He described the former governor as a statesman whose years in public life have been defined by vision, courage and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of society.

 

“At 68, we celebrate not merely the passage of years, but the experience gained, relationships built, lives influenced and contributions made along a remarkable journey,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.

 

Professor Agbalagba noted that Ibori’s influence extends far beyond his years in office, stressing that his greatest legacy lies in the people he has mentored, the leaders he has inspired and the opportunities he has created over the years.

He also acknowledged the former governor’s support for the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, describing his goodwill towards the institution as invaluable.

 

According to him, Ibori’s belief in education as a tool for human empowerment and sustainable development aligns with FUPRE’s vision of advancing knowledge, innovation and human capital for Nigeria’s energy sector.

 

The Vice-Chancellor said the shared commitment to education and capacity building underscores the need to strengthen institutions and equip future generations with the skills required to drive national development.

 

He prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, sound health and strength for the former governor, wishing him many more years of fulfilment and impactful service.

 

Professor Agbalagba reaffirmed that the entire FUPRE community joins family, friends and well-wishers in celebrating Chief James Onanefe Ibori at 68 and wishing him continued success in the years ahead.
