The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Professor Ezekiel O. Agbalagba, has congratulated the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd.), CFR, mni, Orhue I, on the celebration of his 20th Coronation Anniversary.
Professor Agbalagba described Orhue l’s two decades reign on the revered Okpe stool as a defining moment in the history of the kingdom and his service to the Nigeria State where he also meritoriously as a military officer.
In a goodwill message on behalf of the University’s Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff and students, Professor Agbalagba praised the monarch’s 20 years on the throne as a reign marked by peace, visionary leadership and enduring service to the people.
He said the Orodje’s reign has strengthened unity, preserved the rich cultural heritage of the Okpe Kingdom and promoted development through purposeful leadership anchored on wisdom, dignity and statesmanship.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the royal father’s commitment to balancing tradition with modern development has enhanced collaboration among institutions and communities, creating an atmosphere that encourages growth and shared prosperity.
Professor Agbalagba also acknowledged the monarch’s unwavering support for FUPRE, noting that his goodwill and advocacy have contributed to the University’s quest for academic excellence, innovation and human capital development.
He said the relationship between FUPRE and the Okpe Kingdom reflects the importance of strong partnerships between higher institutions and traditional institutions in driving education and community development.
“As Your Majesty celebrates this remarkable milestone, we join the people of Okpe Kingdom in celebrating the values upheld, the relationships strengthened and the positive impact of your reign over the past 20 years,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health and strength for the monarch, expressing confidence that his reign would continue to bring peace, progress and greater prosperity to the Okpe Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria.
He extended the warm felicitations of the entire FUPRE community to the revered traditional ruler and wished him many more years of impactful and purposeful leadership on the throne of his forefathers.
