At least four persons have been arrested for allegedly breaking into the office of the principal of Government College, Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Among those said to have been arrested by police operatives at the Ughelli Police Area Command included security guards of the school.
It was gathered that the hoodlums reportedly broke into the principal’s office through the Deputy Principal’s office on Sunday night.

The incident was, however, discovered on Monday when the principal arrived his office.
Sources at the school told our reporter that hoodlums stole unspecified amount of money from the office during the incident.
The burglars, sources said, had thought some books which were donated to the school on Sunday and kept in the principal’s office were bags of money.
“They broke into the office through the ceiling after mounting a ladder at the Deputy Principal’s office. They tore the bags containing the books which they thoughts were bags of money.

“The hoodlums stole some money but very small amount. From what I heard, it’s within N5,000 to N10,000 that they found in one of the cupboards in the office. Four persons were arrested”, one of the sources said.
A police source at the Ughelli Area Command confirmed the development to our reporter, saying that the matter was being investigated by the police.
Effort to speak with the State Police Commissioner, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, on the incident was unsuccessful as calls to his telephone line were not answered at the time of filing this report.
