Man Dies After Wife Reportedly Hit Him With ‘Court Shoe’ In Warri

There was pandemonium on Saturday morning in Warri when a woman allegedly hit her husband to death with a “high heel” otherwise known as “cock shoe” at Ugbuwangue community in Warri South LGA of Delta State. 

It was gathered the couple were having disagreement when the incident happened about 11am. 

The deceased identified as Sylvester Etsebanghanro Ighomi was a member of the Ugbuwangue community exco.

NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online learnt that Mr. Sylvester, a father of two, died before help could come his way. 

Details of the disagreement that led to the unfortunate incident were still sketchy at the time of filing this report. 

However, community sources alleged that the deceased’s wife smashed him with the heel from behind and he fell into coma before later giving up the ghost.

The suspect who hails from Edo State has been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command attached to Warri ‘A’ Division. 

A police source who is aware of the development confided in NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online that the woman denies hitting her husband with her shoe ‘heel’ which led to his death.

The suspect, according to our police source, claimed “They were having disagreement and the man slapped her and she seized the man on his shirt and he slumped.” 

Our source revealed that the family of the deceased was yet to officially lodge the case at the police station and what truly happened to the husband of the suspect. 

When conatcted, Delta Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed that the woman was in police custody but the matter had not been officially reported to ascertained what happened to the deceased.
