A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and Director General of the Technical Committee Secretariat on the Creation of Anioma State, Ogbueshi Godfrey Odogwu, has declared that Senator Ned Nwoko remains the best candidate in decades to represent Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Odogwu, in a statement on Tuesday, outlined eight reasons why the lawmaker should be returned to the Senate for a second term in 2027.
According to him, Nwoko’s return was necessary to sustain the ongoing process for the creation of Anioma State, which he said had recorded significant progress since the senator assumed office in 2023.
“He will sustain the gains of the Anioma State creation process and complete the excellent work he started in 2023 with his Senate colleagues to actualise the creation of Anioma State with capital in Asaba,” he stated.
The APC chieftain argued that replacing Nwoko at this stage could disrupt years of progress already achieved in the state creation process.
Odogwu also praised the senator’s legislative performance, describing him as a lawmaker with “a national mindset and constituency depth.”
He noted that Nwoko’s motions and bills in the 10th Senate covered constitutional reforms, fiscal federalism, healthcare, youth empowerment, social security, diaspora inclusion and national security.
According to him, the senator’s performance had earned him multiple awards in the current Senate.
The APC stalwart further claimed that Nwoko’s representation had brought measurable infrastructural, educational, healthcare and agricultural interventions across the nine local government areas of Delta North.
He listed rural roads, water projects, school renovations, solar electrification schemes, medical outreaches and empowerment programmes among projects facilitated by the senator.
Odogwu also described Nwoko as a compassionate leader who had consistently supported indigent students through scholarships, paid medical bills for the less privileged and funded small businesses.
He added that the senator enjoyed massive support among women, youths, market traders, farmers, artisans and traditional rulers across Anioma land.
According to him, Nwoko’s relationship with traditional rulers and his regular consultations with them on the proposed Anioma State project had strengthened confidence in his leadership.
“He is undoubtedly the best candidate in decades to represent Delta North Senatorial District. He has been tried and tested, an achiever and goal getter with the character, capacity and compassion to meet the yearnings of Ndi Anioma,” Odogwu said.
He urged the people of Delta North to mobilise support for the senator’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that Nwoko would secure another term in the Senate.
