In a goodwill message released to commemorate the October 1st celebration, Dafinone described the milestone as a time for sober reflection and renewed patriotism, particularly in the face of current economic challenges facing the nation.

“This is not just a celebration of sovereignty,” the lawmaker said, “but a solemn reflection on our collective journey — our struggles, our triumphs, and the enduring spirit that binds us as one people.”

Acknowledging the strain of recent economic reforms, inflation, and shifting global dynamics, Senator Dafinone encouraged Nigerians — particularly the resilient people of Delta Central and the Niger Delta — not to be disheartened by the present hardship.

“Change, especially meaningful change, often comes with sacrifices,” he said. “Let us rekindle our hope and strengthen our resolve to build a Nigeria that works for all”, he added.
