The Executive Director, Projects, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Ebenezer Okorodudu, on Wednesday called on Christians to embrace genuine spiritual reflection as they mark Easter.
Okorodudu made the call at the 2026 Resurrection Dinner organised by Delta Broadcasting Service in Warri, themed “Crucify with Christ.”
He said the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ remain the foundation of Christianity, urging believers to reflect not just on the death on the cross, but on the sacrifices made for humanity.
According to him, Easter should be a period for self-examination and sanctification, stressing the need for Christians to live according to the teachings of Christ.
Quoting from the Bible, he called on politicians, civil servants and business leaders to demonstrate true leadership rooted in sacrifice, humility and service.
The DESOPADEC director said the occasion should serve as a moment of sober reflection on the true meaning of Easter beyond celebration.
Earlier, the General Manager of DBS Warri, Malcolm Oteri, said the event, now in its 10th edition, was aimed at promoting the core message of Easter among Christians.
He expressed concern over rising moral decadence among youths, urging parents, guardians and leaders to take proactive steps to address the trend.
Oteri also commended the Chairman of DBS Board, Moses Odibo, for his dedication and leadership.
The event featured several speakers, including religious leaders and public figures, who emphasised the need for moral rebirth and responsible leadership in society.
The annual event featured speakers such as Rev. Mrs. Ufuoma Omatsheye; Special Guest of honor, Comrade Ovuozorie Macaulay; Spiritual Father of the day, Archbishop Iboyi Godday; President, Okpe Christian Association, Rev. Godspower Agbadita; Rev.
