The restriction, which takes effect from April 11 to April 24, is aimed at ensuring a hitch-free and culturally significant to the process for the staff of office presentation.

The development followed a general council meeting of the Olomu Kingdom held at Ekiotor, the ancestral home of the people, where critical decisions were taken to perfect arrangements for the ceremony.

Secretary of the Olomu Traditional Council, Olorogun John Ewenede, disclosed that the move forms part of broader efforts to preserve tradition and maintain order ahead of the historic event.

He noted that the meeting, presided over by the monarch, also witnessed a major breakthrough as chiefs of the kingdom resolved lingering internal disagreements, paving the way for unity and collective participation in the forthcoming ceremony.

The presentation of staff of office to the Ohworode is scheduled for April 24, 2026, at Olomu Secondary School, Otorere Olomu, by 10am, and is expected to attract dignitaries from across the country.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is billed to officially present the staff of office, formally recognising the monarch as the 14th Ohworode of the ancient kingdom.

Ewenede described the event as a significant cultural milestone, urging indigenes of Olomu Kingdom at home and in the diaspora, as well as the general public, to be part of the celebration.

He added that the ceremony would not only showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Olomu people but also reinforce unity, peace and development within the kingdom.

“Our celebration goes beyond tradition; it is also about strengthening the bond of love, unity and prosperity among our people,” he said.
