The annual event, themed “Political Stability and Sustainable Development in Africa in an Increasingly Unstable Global System: A Roadmap for Nigeria,” brings together key political leaders, policymakers, business executives and development stakeholders.

The newspaper said the award recognises the governor’s impactful infrastructure drive, inclusive governance model and consistent implementation of policies under his MORE Agenda, which it noted have accelerated development across Delta State.

In a related development, New Telegraph Newspapers will also confer its Governor of the Year 2025 Award on Oborevwori as Overall Governor of the Year at its ceremony scheduled for February 13, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to New Telegraph, the governor distinguished himself through people-focused programmes, strategic infrastructure expansion and socio-economic policies that have positively transformed lives across the state.

Reacting to the double recognition, Nani described the honours as a national validation of Delta’s steady progress and a reflection of purposeful leadership.

“This is a proud moment for Delta State. These recognitions confirm that the transformation under Governor Oborevwori is visible, measurable and nationally acknowledged,” Nani said.

He noted that the administration has recorded significant milestones in road construction, bridges, urban renewal, market development and other critical infrastructure across the three senatorial districts.

Nani also commended sustained investments in education, healthcare, youth empowerment and social protection, as well as the administration’s fiscal discipline and early implementation of the new minimum wage.

According to him, the dual awards underscore the governor’s growing national profile and affirm that Delta’s development trajectory is firmly on course.

He expressed confidence that the recognition would further motivate the governor to consolidate existing gains and deepen inclusive growth across the state, particularly in oil-producing communities.
