Over 1,000 youths from the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu (U3) Federal Constituency have passed a resounding vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and their representative at the National Assembly, Hon. Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive.
The declaration was made on Wednesday during a well-attended youth summit held at the DSC Township in Udu, Delta State, where the youths also resolved to support Hon. Waive for a third term in office.
They described the federal lawmaker as the best representative of the constituency to the National Assembly since independence, saying that return him would ensure that Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency has a stronger voice in the Green Chamber.
The event, tagged “Youth Summit”, served as a platform for political engagement, empowerment, and strategic dialogue aimed at fostering youth participation in governance.
Participants at the summit unanimously endorsed the trio for re-election in 2027, citing their exemplary performance in office, visible infrastructural projects, and commitment to grassroots development.
Speaking at the gathering, Hon. Waive, while presenting his scorecard, appreciated the unwavering support of U3 youths and assured them of continued empowerment. He revealed that youth-targeted initiatives have already been captured in the 2025 federal budget.
“We have future Governors and Senators among us today,” Waive said. He added, “Our youth empowerment initiative is fully captured in the 2025 budget, and those present here will be the first to benefit.”
The federal lawmaker also commended Governor Oborevwori for his steadfast support in sustaining the Federal Medical Centre, Udu, and expressed confidence in his return for a second term in 2027.
Waive further hailed President Tinubu’s performance, particularly the ongoing work on the Benin–Effurun Expressway, describing it as a fulfillment of his infrastructure promise.
“I salute my Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his total support and humility. President Tinubu equally deserves our continued backing to complete the good work he has started,” Waive stated.
