The Pan Niger Delta Forum has congratulated the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson, on their 51st and 60th birthday anniversaries, respectively.
PANDEF, in a statement on Wednesday signed by its National Chairman, Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali (OON), described the two leaders as outstanding contributors to the development and stability of the Niger Delta region.
The group noted that although the celebrations were coming at a solemn period for the Niger Delta, it was grateful to God for the lives and continued service of both leaders.
According to PANDEF, Governor Fubara has, at 51, continued to make significant impacts on the socio-economic development of Rivers State, adding that the state has recorded notable progress under his leadership.
The forum said Rivers State is now widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading centres of growth and development, attributing this to purposeful governance and rapid execution of policies.
On Senator Dickson, PANDEF described his 60th birthday as a testament to a life of statesmanship, noting his roles as former Governor of Bayelsa State and a serving senator.
It said the lawmaker had remained a strong voice of reason, accountability and democratic values in the National Assembly and in national political discourse.
PANDEF further commended both leaders for their individual and collective contributions to peace, sustainable development and democratic consolidation in the South-South region.
The forum also acknowledged the efforts of other leaders and citizens of the Niger Delta whose contributions, it said, often go unrecognised.
PANDEF prayed for continued divine guidance, wisdom and strength for Governor Fubara, Senator Dickson and the people of the Niger Delta.
