The Peter Obi Support Network (POSN), Delta State chapter, has distanced itself from the Delta State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Kenneth Gbagi.

The foremost support group of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, said it was working for the actualisation of the victory of Mr. Obi and the all candidates of Labour Party and not for individual candidates.

This is coming on the heels of the purported endorsement of Mr. Gbagi as the preferred governorship candidate in Delta State by the former deputy state coordinator for Delta central, Rev. Precious O. Udoro.

Reacting to a viral online video, state coordinator of POSN, Evang. Benok Nwanji, said Udoro has been sacked as the deputy coordinator of the network for what he described as series of anti-movement activities.

Nwanji told journalists that POSN had alliance only with Labour Party, and not with any other political party as the sacked Udoro would want to paint it.

He said POSN is committed to ensuring victory for all Labour Party candidates from the state House of Assembly to the presidency.

“We are working with Labour Party to deliver the party’s candidates in the upcoming elections. Let it be known that POSN is not about individual candidates but about Labour Party which we have alliance with,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a terse letter of disengagement, the state coordinator disclosed that Udoro has been relieved of his appointment over his alleged involvement in anti-movement activities.

“We have noticed your anti-movement activities with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and their Delta State governorship candidate, especially in your recent meeting with SDP where you issued an unauthorized press statement and publication using the name of Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) in a manner which is against the goals, objectives and agenda of Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) in Delta State and in general.

“For this reason, you are relieved of your position as the POSN deputy state coordinator (Delta central senatorial district) henceforth,” it stated.
