A yet-to-be identified suspected internet fraudster otherwise known as Yahoo Boy has reportedly crushed three persons to death at Okpare Town in Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening by the popular sharp curve along the Okpare-Ughelli road.

The victims were a pregnant lady, woman and her child. Two other persons also sustained life threatening injuries from the incident.

It was learnt that the deceased were relations and were said to be returning from Ughelli when they met their untimely death.

It was gathered that the suspect, who was said to be driving a Toyota Venza, was on high-speed when he allegedly veered off his lane and crushed a tricycle with five occupants.

Sources at the scene of the incident told NIGER DELTA TODAY that three of the victims died on the spot while two others including the driver of the tricycle were rushed to the Ughelli Central Hospital treatment.

Our sources added that the driver of the Toyota Venza who was absconding was apprehended by the youths in the area and handed over to police.

It was gathered that the youths upon checks on the suspect’s car discovered native chalks in the pigeon hole.

A youth in the community, while confirming the incident, said the suspect was driving recklessly when he veered off his lane to hit the tricycle and killed some of the occupants.

The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, could not be reached to confirm the arrest of the suspect as of the time of filing this report.
