Tinubu Swears In Disu As 23rd IGP, Inaugurates RMAFC, FCSC Commissioners

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday swore in Tunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police (IGP), formally ushering him into office at a ceremony held inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The brief ceremony took place shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Disu’s inauguration marks a new chapter in the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, as the Tinubu administration continues efforts to strengthen national security architecture.

 

In the same ceremony, the President also administered oaths of office to six newly appointed commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and two commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), reinforcing key federal institutions.

 

The event attracted top government functionaries, ministers, and family members of the appointees.

 

Those in attendance included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Walson-Jack, alongside other cabinet members.

Immediately after the swearing-in, the FEC meeting commenced with a large turnout of council members, underscoring the administration’s ongoing policy and governance engagements.
