The University of Lagos Consultancy Services is set to honour the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, with a landmark publication chronicling his leadership journey and achievements.
The tribute, titled “Leadership Chronicles of Governor Douye Diri”, is a rich compendium of essays and reflections capturing the governor’s governance style, leadership philosophy, and tireless dedication to justice, equity, and environmental sustainability in the Niger Delta.
The book, edited by respected scholars Professor Hope Eghagha and Sola Ojewusi, gathers diverse perspectives on Governor Diri’s impact as a statesman and advocate for national cohesion.
The publication will be launched during a special public event at the University of Lagos, featuring two major highlights: a keynote lecture by a distinguished international figure and the official unveiling of the book.
Governor Diri, fondly described as an “Apostle of national unity”, has consistently championed the causes of equitable resource distribution and environmental justice in Nigeria.
Diri’s inclusion in the Essays in Honour Series — an initiative by UNILAG Consultancy Services aimed at celebrating transformational leadership — underscores the significance of his contributions to governance and public service.
“This important publication is part of the ongoing Essays in Honour Series midwived being published by the University of Lagos Consultancy Services, aimed at documenting and celebrating transformational leadership across the country”, the statement added.
It noted that the date for the ceremony would be announced soon, the statement added.
