What began as a formal community reception quickly evolved into a full-blown political declaration of support for the governor’s leadership—and a rallying cry ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The day’s events commenced at the Koko Community Management Authority Hall, where Ojo-Ede was received by prominent community figures led by Dr. Chris Eburajolo.

The celebration later moved to the expansive Nana Palace field, which was packed with a jubilant crowd carrying banners and chanting solidarity songs.

“This appointment is not just for Maurice, it is for all of us,” declared Comrade Engineer Toju Itsesagba.

He added, “The governor has shown wisdom. Politics is local, and you can see how our people have embraced this choice. With this, 2027 is already secured.”

Residents described Ojo-Ede’s appointment as not only a personal victory but a political turning point for Koko and the entire Warri North region.

The enthusiasm was grounded in Ojo-Ede’s longstanding commitment to community development through his OMO Foundation. Over the years, the foundation has funded WAEC and JAMB registrations for thousands of youths, awarded scholarships, drilled boreholes, and distributed food and cash to families during festive periods.

“He has been touching lives before this office,” said Mrs. Adanu Oritse. “Now he has the governor’s backing. That means more development for Warri North”, She added.

“The MORE Agenda is truly working. With people like Maurice, the grassroots will continue to feel government directly,” he said.
