The abducted younger sister to the wife of the Delta State governor, Dame Edith Okowa, Elizabeth has regained freedom.

It was learnt that Elizabeth, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen around Temple Clinic junction, along Awai road near Government House in Asaba last week, was released on Wednesday.

However, there had been conflicting information as to when she was released as some sources claimed the victims was freed on Wednesday while others said she was released on Thursday.

Elizabeth was abducted last week by masked arms wielding gunmen.

It was learnt that her release was secured after the alleged payment of N150 million.

A reliable source from government house confirmed her released but denied knowledge of the ransom.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Adeyinka Adeleke, claimed ignorance and denied any knowledge of the alleged released.

He said, “I’m just hearing it from you, I don’t have that information that she was abducted not alone to have information that she been released. I no hear go, so is not possible for me to hear come.
