A non-governmental organisation, Tantita Ambassadors, has launched “Kestin Cares,” a new initiative aimed at supporting physically challenged students through educational assistance, talent discovery and inclusion.
The programme, coordinated by Comrade K.K. Djagbo, was officially unveiled in Warri, Delta State, with outreach visits to Dom-Domingos College and Alderstown School, where learning materials were distributed to students with physical disabilities.
The group said the initiative seeks to bridge educational gaps by providing books, school bags, writing materials and other specialised learning resources while creating opportunities to identify and nurture the talents of physically challenged children.
According to the organisation, the programme will also work with schools and caregivers to discover unique abilities among students and provide mentorship, training and platforms to showcase their talents.
Speaking during the launch, the Coordinator of Tantita Ambassadors, Comrade K.K. Djagbo, said the initiative was driven by the belief that physical disability should never be a barrier to education or personal development.
“‘Kestin Cares’ is born out of our belief that no physical challenge should limit a child’s right to quality education or self-expression.
“Today at Dom-Domingos College and Alderstown School, we didn’t just donate books and bags—we came to see, to listen, and to begin the work of identifying and promoting the talents these children carry. Disability is not inability,” he said.
Djagbo said the outreach also featured interactive sessions with students and teachers to assess educational needs and identify areas where the beneficiaries could receive further support.
He called on corporate organisations, government agencies and well-meaning Nigerians to partner with Tantita Ambassadors to expand the initiative to more schools across Delta State and other parts of the country.
According to him, greater collaboration is needed to ensure that children living with disabilities have equal access to quality education and opportunities to realise their full potential.
Tantita Ambassadors described itself as a non-profit organisation committed to community development, social advocacy and the empowerment of vulnerable groups through education, inclusion and capacity-building programmes.
The organisation said the launch of “Kestin Cares” marks the beginning of a long-term intervention designed to improve learning outcomes for physically challenged students while promoting inclusion and equal opportunities in the education sector.
