Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and self-acclaimed acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Victor Giadom on Wednesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, at the Presidential Villa.

It was learnt that the meeting was not unconnected with the crisis rocking the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Our correspondent further gathered that the Fayemi and the embattled Giadom who was until now a Deputy National Secretary of the party attempted to personally meet with President Buhari himself.

The President was, however, learnt to have left office to his official residence when they visited.

Giadom had on Tuesday announced meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party for Thursday June 25 at the Aso Villa.

It was not clear if the meeting was to perfect plans for the proposed meeting by the Giadom-led faction with the presidency.

However, other sources claimed that Fayemi wanted Giadom to see Buhari to get endorsement for the emergency National Executive Council (NEC) he summoned.

Sources claimed that Giadom enjoys the support of governors elected on the platform of APC especially governors from the Northern part of the country.

Fayemi, who is chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, is one of the anti-Oshiomhole’s forces in the ruling party.

The governor of Ondo Rotimi Akeredolu is also alleged to be supporting Giadom as the acting national chairman of the party and also in support of the NEC meeting.
