A fire explosion, on Monday night, rocked a popular cooking gas plant situated along the Effurun/Sapele Road in Effurun, Delta State.
The gas station identified as NELMIC Gas Plant which is located opposite the Effurun Post Office was said to have gone aflame 10:30pm.
The remote cause of the explosion is yet-to-be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that a thunderous sound had heralded the fire explosion which has completely destroyed the gas plant.
Sources told NIGER DELTA TODAY that the raging fire was fast spreading to residential buildings and a popular Redeemed Church in the area.
It was further gathered that scores of persons were injured during the incident.
