The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections.
Oborevwori beats 13 other governorship aspirants including Chief James Ibori’s preferred candidate, Olorogun David Edevbie and Senator James Manager to pick the governorship ticket of the PDP.
The Delta Assembly Speaker polled 590 votes to emerge the candidate.
Edevbie scored 113 votes to come second while Senator James Manager polled 83
Olorogun Fred Majemite polled six votes.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Delta State and one of the governorship aspirants, Deacon Deacon Kingsley Otuaro has walked out of the venue while counting of votes were still on.
