Delta Central Senator Ede Dafinone has lauded the historic has congratulated Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru, widely known as “Tracta 2,” for completing a historic 72-day solo motorcycle expedition spanning 22 countries across Africa and Europe.
The expedition, which commenced on August 1, 2025, saw Ogboru traverse roughly 10,265 kilometers from Nigeria to Belgium and back, navigating challenging terrains with resilience and skill.
She concluded her journey on Saturday, October 11, 2025, returning to a warm welcome at the Seme-Krake Joint Border Post.
In a statement, Senator Dafinone hailed the journey as a powerful demonstration of the “indomitable Urhobo Spirit” of courage, determination, and resourcefulness.
The Senator praised Ogboru not only for her physical endurance but also for championing women’s empowerment and inclusivity under the expedition’s theme: “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research.”
“Her successful return underscores an exceptional level of preparedness, endurance, and physical tenacity in the service of a greater cause,” Dafinone remarked.
He noted that the journey also carried a broader message, inspiring women and girls to pursue their dreams boldly.
Akpevwe Ogboru’s feat marks a first for a female officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, setting her apart as a trailblazer in a traditionally male-dominated arena.
The lawmaker likened Ogboru’s achievement to the legendary 1952 scooter tour by Nigerian adventurer Olabisi Ajala, highlighting her role in strengthening Africa-Europe relations and promoting a positive image of Nigeria on the global stage.
Senator Dafinone called on Nigerian youth, particularly women and girls, to draw inspiration from Ogboru’s courage and determination. “With focus and positivity, boundaries can indeed be transcended,” he affirmed.
