The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on his conferment with the Christian Icon Award by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Dafinone described the award as a recognition of the governor’s leadership, humility, commitment to public service and dedication to Christian values.
CAN presented the award to Governor Oborevwori during its 50th anniversary celebration at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, on Saturday.
In a congratulatory message, the senator said the honour brought pride to Delta State and the Urhobo people, noting that Oborevwori’s leadership has continued to earn recognition beyond the state.
He said the governor’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, inclusive governance and the collective aspirations of the people reflected the values of responsible and people-oriented leadership.
Dafinone expressed confidence that the recognition would further strengthen Oborevwori’s resolve to sustain the gains of his administration’s MORE Agenda and implement policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of Deltans.
He added that the award came with a greater responsibility to remain steadfast in the service of God and humanity.
“Recognition of this nature comes with an even greater responsibility to remain steadfast in the service of God and humanity,” the senator said.
Dafinone, who congratulated the governor on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central, prayed that God would grant him wisdom, good health, strength and grace to lead the state towards greater peace, prosperity and development.
He described the award as well deserved and wished the governor continued success in the discharge of his responsibilities.
