The Special Adviser to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on National Assembly Matters, Hon. (Chief) Daniel Reyenieju, has declared that the party’s political movement is unstoppable, citing its grassroots structure, leadership and commitment to national development.
Reyenieju, a former three-term member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Delta Unity Group, made the declaration while assessing the just-concluded inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
He expressed confidence in the party’s mobilisation efforts, saying its organisational structure and grassroots reach would strengthen its campaign for national renewal.
The former lawmaker commended the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for what he described as his exemplary leadership and efforts to consolidate the party’s structures and promote unity among members.
He also cited Yilwatda’s assertion that the APC had more than 261,000 party executive members and 31 governors, describing the figures as evidence of the party’s extensive organisational network.
Reyenieju said the party’s grassroots structures remained crucial to its engagement with Nigerians and the pursuit of its political objectives.
He further backed the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, particularly the removal of the petrol subsidy, describing the move as a difficult but necessary step towards restructuring the economy.
According to him, previous administrations had recognised the need for such reforms but lacked the political will to implement them.
Reyenieju’s position echoes remarks attributed to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who urged Tinubu to remain focused on his economic reform agenda despite the demands of the campaign season.
Uzodimma was quoted as saying, “A good product sells itself.”
Similarly, Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, was cited as expressing support for Tinubu’s re-election, while acknowledging the difficulties associated with the reform process.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, was also quoted as declaring that the political movement would continue its push towards the next presidential election.
Reyenieju acknowledged the economic difficulties associated with the reforms but maintained that sustained implementation was necessary to achieve their intended objectives.
He also referenced the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who challenged the APC leadership and campaign machinery to demonstrate their capacity to deliver on their political commitments.
As the party prepares for the next electoral contest, Reyenieju called for greater unity, stronger mobilisation and sustained engagement with Nigerians.
He expressed confidence in the APC’s organisational capacity and campaign preparations, insisting that the party’s focus remained on national development and building a greater Nigeria.
