Fifteen contestants have advanced to the semi-final of the Season Five of the Delta State Broadcasting Service (DBS) Song of the Year singing competition.
From the 15, ten contestants will slug it out for the finals of the singing competition with a star prize of N1.5 million.
The quarter-final was a clash of the titans as twenty contestants locked horns to secure a spot in the semi-final slated for Friday September 17, 2024, at RMF Hall RCCG Shekinah Parish on Chevron Clinic Road, opposite DBS Warri, NPA Expressway Edjeba, Warri.
The 20 contestants gave a good account of themselves before a panel of judges comprising popular music producer Tejiri Agbabune; DBS Warri Music Director, Obes Isonguyo, and popular artiste, Theowaco Omoruvwie, who had a difficult time selecting those who will qualified for the semi-final.
Some of the contestants thanked the organisers and the sponsors for the music competition for the initiative.
The overall winner of DBS Song of the Year Season 5 sponsored by Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, and supported by ND Western Nigeria Limited, will go home with N1.5 million, second place will grabs one million naira, while the take home for third place is N500,000 as well as recording deals.
The DBS Song of the Year singing competition has become the best and most trusted music competition in the Niger Delta region.
