Ibori Mourns Former Delta Deputy Governor, Amos Utuama

A former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has described the death of former Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama SAN, as a huge loss.

Ibori said Utuama, who served under him as commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, was his “steadfast legal foundation”.

Utuama, a two-term deputy governor of Delta under former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, passed on Saturday at 77 after a protracted sickness.

While paying tribute to the late deputy governor, Ibori said he would have done anything within his power to halt Utuama’s death.

In a statement on Saturday, Ibori said “Professor Amos Agbe Utuama, my humble, loyal, and esteemed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. You were my steadfast legal foundation, executing your duties with unwavering commitment.

“If it were within my power to halt death, I would have done so for you. Farewell, dear Professor. May your soul rest in eternal peace.”
