Kwara: Saraki suffers defeat as APC wins Kwara Central Senate seat

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has lost his re-election bid to the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kwara Central in Kwara State.

The candidate of the APC, Oloriegbe Ibrahim, won in all four local government areas of Kwara defeating the Senate President.

According to the results announced by the Returning Officer for Kwara Central, Prof Olawole Ibiyemi, said APC polled a total of 123,808 votes in the election held on Saturday.

Saraki, who contested on PDP platform scored a total of 68,994 votes to come second.

Prof Ibiyemi, who announced the result, said APC won with a margin 54,814.
