Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has emerged the Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum.
Okowa is succeeding outgoing governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson, following the completion of his two term tenures on Friday, February 14, 2020, as the governor of “glory of all lands.”
The Delta governor was selected after elaborate consultations by governors of the regions.
According to a statement signed by Dickson’s Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, the outgoing Bayelsa governor called on the governors to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
While congratulating Okowa, Dickson stated that the forum could only collectively proffer solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the South-South region if the governors worked as a team.
