A popular bishop in Delta State, Bishop Diamond Emuobo, is dead, NIGER DELTA TODAY Online can authoritatively report.
Bishop Emuobor, who is the founder of Holy Trinity Mission, Ughelli, was found dead on Sunday morning.
Our correspondent learnt that the popular cleric died in his sleep.
He was aged 76.
Multiple sources who confirmed the development on Sunday evening noted that the renowned bishop, who was onetime head of Church of God Mission in Ughelli area, was not sick nor having ailment before his passage.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online further that gathered that the cleric was discovered dead when members of his family went to wake him on Sunday for morning devotion.
The deceased was said to have had dinner with his family on Saturday night before going to bed.
“ Bishop was found dead this morning (Sunday) when members of his family went to wake him for morning devotion since he didn’t sleep in the same room with his wife. He slept in another room.
“He had a very happy time with his immediate family on Saturday night after they had dinner together. He was not sick”, a source close to family confided on our correspondent.
The State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Kingsley Enakhireri, confirmed the sad development to our correspondent when contacted.
Bishop Enakhireri, who expressed shock at the death of Bishop Emuobo, noted that the late clergyman was not sick.
He said PFN will release official statement on death of his colleague in a letter date.
He, however, commiserated with the family members of his church over the passage of the Bishop.
