It, however, urged journalists in the state to accord him the needed support to move the union forward.

In a communiqué signed and issued at the end its congress on Monday by the chapel chairman and secretary, Comrade Okies Veeky and Comrade Joe Ogbodu respectively, called for unity among journalists in the state.

The Warri Chapel said it decided to pass the vote of confidence on Delta NUJ leadership led by its former chapel chairman owing to the transparent nature he has been running the affairs of the state council since he (Ikeogwu) took over the mantle of leadership.

It further urged journalists to speak with one voice and promote the ideas that would make union stronger for the betterment of its members across the state.

  1. What does a transparent and good leadership, like the Delta NUJ for instance need a Vote of Confidence for? If they are transparent and had the support or the union during election to climb into office, why the Vote of Confidence?
