Crisis may be brewing in the entertainment industry in Delta State over the circulating campaign posters by popular musician, O’ Fresh, that entertainers in the state have endorsed candidates of the APC for 2019 general elections.
Ace comedian, Alegbe Baba, who is among the entertainers to speak up on the issue advised O’ Fresh to speak for himself and not for the entire industry in the state.
Alegbe Baba whose real name is Benson Chukwuma made the clarification in a post on his Facebook Account.
The campaign posters have the pictures of President Muhammadu Buhari, APC governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (APC candidate, Delta Central), Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan (APC candidate, Delta South) and that of O’Fresh as the sponsor.
The posters’ inscription read, “Delta Entertainers Forum endorses and supports all APC candidates for 2019. Vote APC all the way…courtesy of D.E.F (Delta Entertainers Forum).
But Alegbe Baba in his post said, “This is not true about the position of entertainers in Delta state, it’s rather a personal post tending to drag others of like minds in as we are individuals with different interests & opinions.
“I personally have called to order the brother behind this post in person of Mr. Gift aka O’ Fresh yet he has paid deaf ears but nobody can drag me to the mud.”
O’ Fresh, however, while reacting to Alegbe Baba’s post said, “Alegbe, my senior brother, don’t get emotional over issue that is not an issue. I understand your pain and reason why you’ve decided to come hard on me this way but trust me; I’ll not make it public. Ok!
“Now for the records, we have this various associations in Delta State and everyone is doing their thing so I don’t see the reason why D.E.F is the only forum being attacked by some aggrieved Entertainer’s…. anyway na person wen e dey with ball for field them dey tack Sha….
“Do you know we have this association’s in Delta state? Delta Entertainer’s Council, Delta Entertainment Council, Delta Musicians Forum, One Delta Entertainer’s, PMAN Delta State, Delta Gospel Artist, Delta Indigenous Entertainer’s. So what’s wrong with the name Delta Entertainer’s Forum?”
