A renowned chartered accountant and senatorial aspirant for Delta Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Ede Dafinone, has boasted that APC will win the 2023 general elections in Delta State.

Dafinone also hinted that APC is now united and ready to battle the ruling PDP for the highest political seats in the state.

The senatorial aspirant spoke when he visited APC leaders in Ethiope East, Okpe and Uvwie LGAs in continuation of his consultation to delegates of the party in Delta Central for the ticket of the party.

He said leaders of the party including the Deputy President of the Senate, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege are working hard to close ranks as well as win more Deltans into the party to defeat PDP in the forthcoming general elections.

Dafinone stressed that the party will capitalise on the current unity in the party to takeover Delta.

According to him, “In the last election, the party was factionalised, and we were not united, but today, under the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, party is not only united, we are ready to take over government house in Delta. But to do that successfully, it will need our collective efforts.

He stated further that Omo-Agege’s achievement since he was elected to the Senate has not only been a thing of pride to the Urhobo nation but has made campaigning for the party at next year’s general election a lot easier.

He urged the Exco to support him as their senatorial candidate to build on the achievements recorded on the leadership on Senator Omo-Agege.

He enjoined the party leadership and party faithful in Delta State to rally round Omo-Agege leadership as the party prepares to takeover Delta State and recuse the state from poor leadership that has become the bane of the state since 1999.

Meanwhile, APC leaders in Ethiope East Local Government Area also pledge their support to Dafinone’s aspiration and called on him to be prepared to step into the shoes of the Deputy Senate President.

They insisted that the Urhobo Nation must send their best hands to represent them at all levels in the country and beyond.

According to Ethiope East APC chairman, Chief Julius Ogboru, “You are already there. Your father is a core politician with great ideas. I want you to follow in the footsteps of your father. Be in his shoes if your father was the man of the people, I know you are. Who is coming to challenge you in this position, you will win because I know you are there already.”

The APC chairman in Okpe local government, Eric Afe, also acknowledged the competence of the renowned chartered accountants and added that the Okpe cannot fail in supporting him and pledged members’ support for him.

“We have no doubt about your ability, you are qualified and very experienced to carry out his good work of replacing our Senator, DSP Ovie Omo-Agege. He has set the standard and we must say nobody is more suitable than you and you will go on to conquer”, he added.
