APC Chieftain Urges Edo Electorate To Cast Their Votes For Okpebholo

Senator Monday Okpebholo

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Yusuf Aliu, has called on Edo electorate to vote for the governorship candidate of APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in tomorrow’s election massively.

Dr. Aliu, who stated this on Friday, urged the 2,629,025 registered voters in the state to cast their vote for Okpebholo, whom he described as a homeboy.

In a statement on Friday, Aliu emphasised that Okpebholo, the current senator representing Edo Central, is a true grassroots politician and a “homeboy” who has deep connections with the people of Edo State.

Aliu underscored Okpebholo’s popularity, noting that the people of Edo see him as an approachable and natural leader they can trust.

“Okpebholo is not just a politician; he’s one of us. He understands our people’s daily challenges, and that’s why he has earned their respect and trust. His reputation as a man of the people is well-known, and that will play a crucial role in the upcoming election,” Aliu stated.

The stakes are high, as 2.6 million voters are ready to decide who will lead the state in the next democratic dispensation.
Aliu highlighted that Okpebholo’s reform-driven campaign has struck a chord with a significant portion of the electorate.
He said his policies focus on the most pressing needs of the people, making him a frontrunner in the race.
Among Okpebholo’s key promises are initiatives to transform the agricultural sector by encouraging mechanised farming, which would significantly boost food production and create jobs.
He has also pledged to hire 500 teachers within his first 100 days in office, which would address the state’s critical shortage of qualified educators.

Additionally, he plans to tackle the lack of basic amenities by ensuring the provision of pipe-borne water to communities and guaranteeing 35 per cent representation for women in his cabinet, signalling his commitment to gender inclusivity.
Aliu also stressed that Edo voters want a leader who will unite the state and deliver tangible development.
