Elder statesman and renowned businessman, Chief Morrison Olori, has hailed President Bola Tinubu on the recent increment in daily crude oil production in the country as well as the sustained peace in oil-rich Niger Delta region.
Chief Olori specifically commended the President Tiubu-led administration for deepening the relative peace in the Niger Delta region which has created the environment for the recent improvement in daily crude oil production.
He stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja, the nation’s capital, on recent happening in the Niger Delta and steps being taken by the Tinubu’s administration to better the lots of Nigerians.
Chief Olori, who also one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, noted that President Tinubu’s policies are gradually yielding results and sought the support and understanding of Nigerians in achieving his electoral campaign promises.
“It’s not a mistake that Nigerians chose President Tinubu in the 2023 general elections. Though the beginning was rough and the challenges this administration daunting, he has handled the challenges very well. The results of those policies are gradually trickling in.
“It’s a delight to hear that the country’s daily crude oil production has reached 1.8 million barrels per day (mb/d). As a player in this sector, this is the first time in many years we are achieving this feat. This means that this administration is doing something the previous administration fail do. We must commend Mr. President for his style of leadership that has led to this. We all know the role of oil sector in the country.
“We are now very set for full economy recovery. This means that we now have more money to fund critical sectors of the economy. Also deserving of commendation is that President Bola Tinubu has been able to sustain the peace in the Niger Delta region.
“Prior to his election, he has been engaging the people of the region, and as a president, he has deepened the consultation. The consultations are yielding fruits through improvement daily crude production and peace in the region. He is winning the fight against crude oil theft. This is good step to boosting the economy”, the elder statesman added.
He also commended President Tinubu over the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Nigerian government and the JBS S.A, one of the top three largest meat processing companies globally during the President’s recent visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The elder statesman noted that the deal will promote economic prosperity and attract investments into the livestock sector of the agricultural value-chain thereby ending the aged-long farmer-herder clashes, eradicate hunger and poverty in the country.
On the removal of non-performing ministers, Olori described the action as a laudable step aimed at boosting his administration’s performance and actualising his campaign promises to Nigerians who voted him into power.
According to him, “Unlike his predecessors who kept under-performing ministers and appointees for political reasons, President Tinubu took audacious decision in his administration’s best interest. After all, only he owns the right to hire and fire. I commend him for this bold decision.
“President Tinubu has been going round the world seeking and lobbying investors to come to Nigeria, no president in this country has done it the way Mr. President is doing it. You can imagine the multi-billion dollars deal in the livestock sector in Brazil, this will open up that industry in the country. We have the potentials to feed Africa if the sector is well harness.
“He should not be distracted by the criticisms coming from oppositions. Opposition will always criticise no matter he does. He should focus on the ball and Nigerians are already seeing results from his policies. This President wants a Nigeria that works, and he is taking right steps to ensure the country works.
Chief Olori also commended President Tibunu for stabilising the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) through the constitution of a governing board in line with extant law, adding that the region is now set for rapid development.
He called on the board to execute projects in line with Mr. President’s renewed hope of agenda that will touch the lives and economy of the region.
