Youths under the aegis of Dodo River Federated Youth Council (DTFYC) in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has described the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which produced Chief David Lyon as the state governor-elect as true reflection of the people’s desire in the state.

The youths noted that going by the actions and performance of the Governor Seriake Dickson’s led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), there was no way that the PDP candidate, Douye Diri, could have won the election.

In a statement signed by its President-General, Deboh Azazi Emmanuel, the youths drawn from various communities including Bilabiri 1 & 2, Amatu1 & 2, Letugbene, Besangbene and Oborigbene congratulate Chief David Lyon on his victory.

Emmanuel said the people of the area were confident that the incoming APC government under the leadership of the Governor-elect will work for the generality of Bayelsa people particularly in the underdeveloped riverine communities in the state.

They appealed to the governor-elect to consider the people of the area who had been deprived of development because of their support for APC in strategic appointment into the State Executive Council when officially inaugurated as governor.

The Dodo River youth leader lamented that despite their huge contribution to the state allocation through EA & Bonga Oil Field presence of oil multinationals with Tunu Oil Stations, the people of the area have nothing to show both in appointment and infrastructure.

“We’re appealing to the incoming Governor to remember Bilabiri and Dodo Youth’s with quality Appointments which will bring development to our communities because the outgoing government despise all abandoned us because of the people support APC which come as results of his sweet promises without implementation for donkey years.

“Our people believed APC change mantra and it is only right that our people benefits from the Change agenda that we have been preaching. We are the major Oil producing Communities in Ekeremor LGA but there is nothing to show for it.

“Our youths and the entire people of the area will partner and support Chief David Lyon’s administration in Bayelsa State. Chief David Lyon is a man of action. We’ll support him to translate the action into feasible development in our communities”, the statement added.
